I absolutely love the Academy Awards every year especially for the fashion but to say I was underwhelmed this year is quite frankly an understatement. I kept waiting for that quintessential "Oscar" dress that was just stunning and over the top and screamed movie star but unfortunately it never came. The closest I think anyone came to "movie star" were Hilary Swank and Sandra Bullock, both in true gowns. By far my favorite of the night was Gwyneth Paltrow in a simple yet sparkling Calvin Klein dress, I especially loved the tailored bottom band on the dress that was the perfect length on her. My runner-ups included Mila Kunis (who has not had 1 red carpet miss all season in my mind), Anne Hathaway in red Valentino Haute Couture whose make-up and hair made a perfect fit and 14 year-old Hailee Steinfeld in a super age appropriate Marchesa dress that she helped design. What did you think of the fashion? Was it underwhelming or par for the course?
